Besides the fact it has a large, very visible screen for easy reading, the Launch 129x also gives you the choice of using the touchscreen, or manually finding your way through the menus using the push button controls.The rubberized, soft padded casing is rugged enough to withstand potential damage.Starting the unit for the very first time does require a few minutes entering information, connecting to WIFI, and completing the updates, but well worth the wait.During the updates I familiarized myself with the unit reading the easy to understand user's manual, and quick start guide.The first time I connected it to my vehicle, the unit pretty much did everything by itself.Found my VIN, then did a complete professional report of many systems and sensors.Using the "ODB II" and "I/M" options in the menu, I was actually able to see more than 200 different sensors, and modules (varies depending on the vehicle), check the values, AND see some of the functions in graph mode as the car was running.For possible problems, Launch has built in one nicefeature that can record a specific graph of a running engine i.e. misfire, or a sensor as it is malfunctioning.Also, you have the ability to make, and save a screenshot of a malfunction code, or graph.The Email function is very convenient in that the unit sends an "Inspection Report" internet link to your, or the customer, Email account.There you can access, save, and print this report.When you're finished, everything can be packed in the carry case, and put away for the next time.All-in-all, the Launch 129x is well worth the money, and will keep me from paying outrageous costs to repair centers.It would be nice if the unit would generate a PDF file of the report and sent per Email.Maybe in future firmware.I hope this will answer most of the questions others might have, because I would highly recommend this unit to anyone I know.

I give this unit five stars because it is well made and was very easy to set up. (You have to down load and update all the vehicle versions. It took 25 minutes or so.) I scanned a 2002 Ford F250 no codes tripped. I also have a 2022 Honda Ridgeline I need to scan, just haven’t had time to do it. I am confident it will do well. Oh it has a touch screen and it is a good size screen. Very easy to use and has the ability to clear 12 codes… only time will tell how it will hold up, but it looks rugged enough for a long life. Good buy for under $500.

As soon as the warning light on dash came on, I went to the parts store. The guy charged me $99 for diagnosis and helped turn the light off, so I thought he had fixed all the issues. However, 3 days later, the warning light was back on. Instead of spending $99 again, I bought this diagnostic tool even though I had no idea about vehicle repair. I inserted it in my car’s obd port, it worked flawlessly. It can not only tell me the diagnostic trouble code but also show some available tips for facilitating the repair. It turned out that the warning light alerted me to replace the broken O2 Sensor. I took my car to another repair center and showed them the diagnostic information, they said that that parts store just cleared the diagnostic trouble codes, but they didn’t replace the bad O2 sensor for me. As a result, the problem had not been solved, and the check engine light would repeatedly turn on. That parts store made me angry, but I felt lucky to buy this diagnostic tool. It is equipped with comprehensive diagnostic functions such as advanced SAS, EPB, TPMS OIL RESET. When my car goes wrong again, I am able to detect the problem on my own rather than blindly rely on the “mechanic”! Would definitely recommend this product for every car owner.

Functionality is great, easy to use, definitely reads codes correctly. We didn't have much hope, but it surprised us by determining exactly what cost us $150 to a shop to figure out.

After looking at a couple different products I figured this seemed like the best fit for my needs. It is able to quickly identify the vehicle and scan systems to look for issues, and supports a lot of data graphing and reset functionality. Definitely among the most feature-filled options in this category. Getting it on the wifi and updating the software was fast and easy, and I've run in to no issues with it on my 22 Subaru Outback so far.The included case is snug but effective, and the OBD2 plug connects securely but isn't a pain to disconnect like some other tools I've used. Compared to some other products the naming of menu options and on screen instructions are actually pretty solid, the usual issue with awkward english or translations doesn't seem to be as noticeably difficult to work with here.One thing I wish it would do more smoothly is changing functions. I can't start another one it seems until I back out of whatever I had been previously doing. I'd rather it have a more streamlined way to enable stopping one tool and starting another.Overall I'm really happy with this, and impressed with the build quality along with the fact it doesn't rely solely on the touch screen like so many (often more expensive) models do. Now if only they'd offer something with two way capabilities between this and the 919 line. I don't need all the repair shop oriented features as a DIY/home user but I'd sure love to have more controls available.

This is certainly one of my best purchases, I have no issues figuring out what my car is trying to say is wrong. Been resolving every trouble code since.

Did what I needed it to do; brake maintenance. Like that it can do a diagnostic and send me a report.

Scanner seems very well made just like other launch products I have had previously. The initial setup and downloads were easy and straightforward. I was up and running in a little over 30 minutes. The scanner itself was almost fully charged upon arrival. The cables also feel flexible and well made. The controls are easy to navigate. It helped diagnose a faulty wheel speed sensor within an hour of showing up on my doorstep.

This diagnostic machine is one of the easiest to use. It tells you the problems, what causes it and ways how to repair it. Must have internet connection. It's way better and easier to understand compare to my FOXX Diagnostic machine.

Finally, I found a OBD2 that resets my service reminder on my 2018 Maserati Ghibli. I didn��t purchase any subscriptions (yet) and it worked right of the box. I used the 12+8 cable to bypass the SGW module but, it��s not necessary with a autoauth subscription.

Great product, was easy to update, tried it on my vehicle after updating and got the codes other standard code readers couldn't show, will be looking forward to testing on other vehicles and all the functions as time goes on, as of now a great purchase for the money.

After you buy the reader then you have to pay for each and every app and vehicle. Also you have to purchase a subscription to unlock the later model computers. So don't expect to be able to use this out of the box. Plan on paying another 100$ for software subscriptions and a bunch of downloads to make it work.Once all of the software and unlock code subscriptions are purchased and loaded this works very well. Pretty professional unit, just plan on time to set it up and install the software needed before you can use it.

for 2021 trailblazer. It feels great looks great. The size is acceptable. The touchscreen is nice. It connects to WiFi. You can adjust the display brightness and seems pretty sturdy. Still waiting for customer service to respond about the free gift that wasn��t sent. And they finally responded and I received the free gift.

Good, Feels Well Built, Looks Like Lots Of Options, But I Needed 3 Of The 12 Resets/ Relearn. Unfortunately, 5 Of 12 Resets Did Not Work.The DIAL FEEDBACK BOX SAID THE SAME THING! "My Software Was Not Current Version" (3rd Pic), But All My System Software Said ��It Is The Current Version!�� (1st, 2nd And 4th Pic)FYI This Does Takes Nice Screen Shots. Notice The Time Stamp, Before And After. Screenshot Show I Was Updated To Full Firmware, And Current Version BEFORE I Tried My Resets, And AFTER I Checked To See If I Updated Wrong. I DID NOT!I'm No Nerd But I Know A Little About Software Version Issues. In My Experience If The Current Main System Software Can't Communicate It Could Take A While To Find, Rewrite and Fix the issue. This Means Back And Forth With (Tech Support) on 5 different Software communication Resets Issues have fun.When offering any type of software update, the manufacture should test with main system first, or preload.Its Not Worth My Time, and its Faster To Return And Try Another.BUT OVER ALL GOOD TOOL! Just Not What I Needed.Thanks

Product works exactly as described, no issues so far. Will purchase products from this manufacturer again when needed.The touch screen works great, tiny bit slow, but the price makes that a sacrifice I'm willing to live with. The buttons operate flawlessly. Updating software is easy and can be done simply by signing into a wireless network. The cable that connects the tool to the vehicle is long enough for most needs. The charge cable is a little short, but the battery life makes up for that as well. Was not expecting the bag it came with, makes it handy to toss into a larger tool bag and not worry about it getting banged up too badly.
