ECU Programming, Coding and Module Replacement
The PAD VII Elite supports ECU programming and coding functions for selected vehicle brands and control modules. Depending on the application, technicians can program data to a replacement module, update existing ECU software, perform coding or matching, and restore supported ECU data from a saved backup.

For supported vehicles, advanced coding can be used after module replacement or to configure available vehicle functions. Personalization and retrofit operations may include headlamp module replacement, ABS pump replacement, remote window settings, DRL brightness adjustment, ACC retrofit and steering-wheel retrofit.
Retrofit and personalization availability depends on the vehicle’s original equipment, installed hardware, control-module software and regional configuration. Hardware installation and coding requirements must be confirmed for each vehicle.
Smart Diagnostic Workflow with Topology Mapping
The PAD VII Elite brings vehicle identification, system scanning, topology display and report generation into one workflow.
AutoVIN can identify supported vehicles, while AutoScan checks accessible control systems. On compatible vehicle architectures, topology mapping displays the communication structure between modules and uses color-coded status indicators to help technicians locate DTCs and communication faults more efficiently. Diagnostic reports can then be generated and saved for review or customer records.
Broad Vehicle Coverage
The PAD VII Elite covers a broad selection of passenger vehicles across U.S., European and Asian markets, including conventional, hybrid and new-energy vehicle applications supported by the installed diagnostic software.
FCA Secure Gateway Access
The PAD VII Elite supports FCA Secure Gateway access through a registered AutoAuth account, allowing authorized diagnostic procedures on supported 2017 and newer Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and other applicable FCA vehicles.
A valid AutoAuth registration or subscription may be required and is not included unless explicitly stated. Coverage and account requirements vary by country, vehicle and current service policy.
SmartLink C: VCI and Local J2534 PassThru Device
SmartLink C is the vehicle communication interface supplied with the PAD VII Elite. It supports modern communication protocols including CAN FD and DoIP and can also operate as a local J2534 PassThru device with compatible OEM programming software.

For OEM J2534 reprogramming, users generally need a compatible Windows computer, the vehicle manufacturer’s OEM software, a valid OEM subscription and any required login credentials. OEM software and subscriptions are not included unless specifically stated.
VAG Guided Functions
Guided Functions provide step-by-step on-screen instructions for supported Volkswagen Group vehicles, helping technicians complete applicable resets, adaptations, matching, calibration and basic-setting procedures without manually searching for channel numbers or login codes.
Supported applications may include selected Volkswagen, Audi, Škoda and SEAT vehicles. Function availability varies by model, year, system and software coverage.
60+ Service, Reset and Relearn Functions
The PAD VII Elite provides more than 60 commonly used service functions for supported vehicles, helping workshops handle routine maintenance as well as advanced reset, matching and calibration procedures.
Bi-directional Control and Active Tests
Bidirectional control allows the scanner to send commands to supported control modules and monitor component response. This helps technicians distinguish between component, wiring and control-module faults before unnecessary disassembly.
Active-test menus vary by vehicle and system. The scanner does not make every listed test available on every vehicle.
Full-System Diagnostics
The PAD VII Elite can scan accessible vehicle systems beyond the engine, including transmission, ABS, SRS, body, chassis, steering, suspension, HVAC, TPMS, ADAS and EV/HV-related control modules where supported.
OBD-II Pin Detection
With SmartLink C connected correctly to the vehicle DLC, the pin-detection function can check voltage and supported protocol information at the OBD-II diagnostic connector. This helps technicians identify connector, power-supply and communication issues before proceeding with vehicle diagnosis.
